About
'Artisans Northwest' began in 1975 as 'The Art and Craft Market'. Artisans has grown from a once-monthly four hour market that moved from place to place, to a four event Christmas show that happened every second weekend in October, November and December at the Airlane Motel, to a final two-day event occurring on the third weekend in November at the Valhalla Inn, in Thunder Bay.
Artisans Northwest is co-ordinated and run by its members as a non-profit organization. The work and displays are of the highest quality making it the premier art and fine craft show in the city.
To be accepted as an artisan, your art or craft must be submitted to a committee for jurying.
The show is also monitored, by the members, to maintain it's high standards. The artists constantly come up with new and innovative items to keep the show looking fresh.
Come to the Valhalla Inn on the third weekend in November for an artistic extravaganza.

Become a Member Artisans Northwest
Before becoming a member with Artisans Northwest, you have to go through a jurying process which normally happens twice a year. (See sidebar for dates) To submit your work for jurying, go to the Forms & Documents page and print out the "Application for Jurying" and the "Membership Application" forms, then read and follow the procedure outlined in the "Application for Jurying" form.
New Member Information
New members who would like their own webpage on the ANW site now may just submit their biographies to the webmaster, as the photos that were taken at the selection committee meeting can be used as images on their page.
Existing members who would like their own webpage, but don't know how to proceed, may now bring samples of their work to the next General Club Meeting to be photographed by the webmaster. This will take place before and/or after the meeting.
NOTE: Please phone Eugene at 577-4997 if you intend to bring some items to the meeting. (Limit 2-3 pieces)
Guidelines for Jurying
- All submitted material must be your own original work
- Submit only one medium per jurying
- We jury based on these factors:
- Creativity and artistic merit
- Originality
- Aesthetic value
- Good craftsmanship
- Quality of material(s) used
- Is this product suitable for our organization?
- NOTE: As some categories may already be filled, your name will be added to a waiting list.
