Pat Huber

I have been making teddy bears since 2000. I spend many hours on each bear from the idea to the result, but I love to see how every bear brings out his own unique "bearsonality" during this creative process.

Most of my critters are created from a real fur garment; however, I also use mohair, high quality faux fur and many other types of fabrics. One of my sweetest bears was made from a child's towel.....the child is now 50 years old! I love to see the flat fabric or old coat turned into a cherished teddy bear.

In the beginning, my love for animals made it very difficult for me to use real fur. Later on I decided it was much better to make teddy bears than having a coat remain hanging in the closet collecting dust for years, or the animal being sacrificed to end up in a garbage site.

My biggest reward is to see the smile on someone's face when they come to pick up their teddy bear that I have created from their Mother's or Grandma's old fur coat....I am very fortunate to have witnessed many happy tears.

I love to design and create teddy bears and other little creatures! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them!
